Kohei Ishiwata: 1 year with the company Solution Management
Kohei Ishiwata Solution Management - 1 year with the company

1. Self-introduction, reason for joining the company, and impressions since joining

My name is Kohei Ishiwata from the Sales Section of the Solution Management Department nat
After graduating from college, I joined a specialized trading company dealing in electronic materials. I later left that position to work as an instructor and facility manager at an outdoor recreation center before taking on my current role. What led me to join this company was a friend’s wedding.
I reunited with Wakasa from the President’s Office—who I now work with—after a long time. When I mentioned that I was looking for a new job because I wanted to take on a new challenge as a business professional, he invited me to join the company, saying, “Why don’t you give it a try here?”I’ve always had a desire to be of service to others and to experience new things, and my actions and choices have been guided by that nat
nat I decided to join nat because I believed nat —in the “housing” sector, which is a major part of the basic necessities of life—could provide people with convenience and a richer quality of life. My impression of the company hasn’t changed at all since I joined.
Since it’s a startup, I expected the pace of change—in the environment around me and in what’s expected of me—to be fast, and I’m enjoying working while embracing those changes.

2. Job Description and Rewards

The Sales Section of the Solution Management Department consists of what are generally referred to as sales positions. Through nat services, we propose ways to improve our clients’ operational efficiency and provide post-implementation support. I find it deeply rewarding when I identify a client’s concerns through conversation and am able to resolve them using nat services.I vividly remember the first time a customer who had just placed an order told me they wanted to cancel. At the time, I wasn’t seeing results and was feeling anxious, so I focused solely on explaining the benefits of the service and neglected to fully understand the customer’s concerns and challenges. As a result, I couldn’t provide a direct solution, and the customer ended up canceling. That experience taught me that even the best medicine is useless unless it’s used appropriately for the intended purpose—and to do that, I need to truly understand the customer.

3. Workplace Atmosphere and Relationships

Since the sales department has a relatively young team, there isn’t much of a strict seniority hierarchy. Instead, we have a relationship where we share useful insights with one another, and there are managers we can consult when we’re unsure about a decision. I think it’s an environment that fosters growth. We also have close ties with members from other departments, so the ability to communicate across departments is one of the best things about this company.

4. What makes your company unique and different from others? What makes nat special?

It’s having supportive colleagues.
Of course, it’s important to think for yourself and take initiative to find the best solution, but I believe having colleagues nearby whom I can consult when I hit a wall is one of the reasons I’m able to lead such fulfilling days.
Another reason is being able to grow alongside the company. Both I and the company are still in the process of growing. With all sorts of things happening and changing every day, I’m often stretched thin just keeping up, but I think the appeal of this company is that I get to work while experiencing a level of stimulation that’s hard to find elsewhere.

5. What are your future goals and vision? What challenges do you want to take on in the future?

I want to develop a system that allows more customers to benefit from nat services, while also building an organization where our sales team can perform at their best.

6. What kind of people would you like to work with in the future?

I’d love to work with people who enjoy the changes that come with each day and always maintain a positive outlook.
